Trickle up economics

Having a large underclass of desperate people without opportunity, and no healthcare in a pandemic is a stupid idea. The US has had a large underclass of poor people who haven’t really had a raise in 30 years, but now, because of the social dislocation produced by the pandemic, they are desperate, and chaos could easily be around the corner.

What is happening looks like another round of trickle down economics, which doesn’t trickle down. The political class takes care of it’s own interests, which are not those of the poor, they don’t make campaign contributions, have no political influence.

They’re desperate, they’ll have to go back to work won’t work if they’re afraid to go back to work, they get evicted, riots in the streets, chaos.

Stupid ideas rule the day. Ideas like mail in voting is undemocratic, are actually sold here in the good old USA. The present administration is trying to defund the Postal Service. Trickle up economics is where this crisis should be going. Give everybody unemployment insurance until the crisis is over. The virus, is a crisis, and the crisis of having an underclass of desperate people is a consequence.
