THE SOUL OF THE NATION,

since 1776, has always been its democracy, and that is in question now. It could be because the public school system is under the same threats that the democracy is. You don’t have a democracy where too many people live in ignorance and poverty, where opportunity is not part of the system, where people know their place, or should know it, like America was during the Jim Crow era, people knew their place, did not question their betters, the ruling classes.

The 1960’s brought the Civil Rights era. The pandemic has produced this Pandemic era America faces now, something with a new twist, an anti science, anti democracy, anti civil rights, Republican Party, and a Democrat party run by old guard DNC people, who nominated Hillary, not Bernie, then Biden, who was elected because he was not Donald Trump.

The soul of the nation has been compromised by the advertising and the self interests of the ruling class which has lost its committment to democracy? Trump’s selfish arrogance, his lawlessness, is lost on his followers who see his meanness as strength. Biden is simply an old opportunist who lacks the grace to think of the nation first, not himself.

Oh well. It is an uncivil war, ongoing, a republic on the line in November.
