The leader of the free world

How free is that? Where does this country stand when it comes to freedom? It certainly doesn’t begin with people who disagree with the policies of the American government. The American government pursues the interests of the people who run it, a ruling class that is far more interested in staying in power than anything else. It’s essentially a one party system run by corporate interests and the big banks, old money, new money, while a majority of the country lives in what is approaching corporate feudalism.

Look at the present election, where a living wage is considered a radical idea, and health care is a for profit enterprise. Remember 2008, the great recession, the hope and change era,when Wall St was bailed out by Obama, not Main St, and millions of people lost their homes and became, if they were lucky, part of the tenant class in a gig economy, where worker representation in the economy is considered a laughable idea.

You can’t get ahead living paycheck to paycheck, saddled with student debt, in an economy where 1% of the population control as much wealth as the bottom 90%, and three people have as much wealth as the bottom 50%. So you need a progressive tax system, like Ike Eisenhower had, that Republican, and to stop believing the advertising.
