THE INCUMBENT’S PROBLEM

He has been a successful, but unpopular president. The Incumbent, to me, no matter how people try, in no matter how many ways, the man looks old, and seems to lack vitality. This can be ignored by his boosters, it hasn’t been by the voting public.

Now, the other candidate has dodged a bullet. It missed him by 6 inches. God protected him, say his followers, it’s a message from the Almighty.

Unless wisdom finds the incumbent, and he drops out, and let’s a younger person run, he looks to lose. He looks old and in the way, which can’t be hidden away.

Less than 40% of the country approve of this incumbent’s presidency, a man whose character in these moments will define his history. Why is he his party’s candidate, he’s the incumbent, he had no real opposition.
