THE HOMELESS AND US

Where I live, the homeless I see on their bicycles, pulling carts up the sidewalk beyond the street leading to the Nationl Park up the hill, where the deer and the elk play, they are thinking about survival, not the fate of a fading Republic.

An insurrectionist hero, Donald J. Trump, is running for fearless leader of the Republic for the third time, popular with the aggrieved, a man who tried to overthrow the government, and continues trying to overthrow it, and has been met with the support of 35–40% of the voting population, seditionists all.

A proxy war rages on in Ukraine, begun with a coup to oust an elected Russian stooge, hundreds of thousands of casualties on both sides, is not going well for anyone not in the arms business.

In Israel, the indigenous population, suppressed in refugee camps for 75 years, a couple of million people, desperate souls, relying on their God and their ideological leaders, who face the occupiers of their land with a history of resistance and futility.

Here, inflation is more on the minds of the populace than the ongoing insurrection. Maybe the autocrat, if Trump prevails, will introduce price controls on essential goods and services, the actual causes for hyper inflation, not raising interest rates, which suppresses consumer demand.

An autocrat narcissist, a bigot, or an old party hack who should have retired, the fading Republic’s two leading candidates for the presidency, an invisible empire with two hot wars on the front burners, and a disfunctional Congress, an American uncivil war in progress, on a Monday, 10/9/23.

Yikes.
