THE DIRECTION OF THE COUNTRY

We’ll find out today, the general public’s concerns about the direction of the country, say the polls, is the real issue. There is an ongoing insurrection, women’s rights politicized, these are concerns for the general public to weigh in on or not, many millions seeing the vote as not for them, or is it the Republican talking points, inflation, economy, crime, the border, immigrants, election denial?

Today, the die is cast, the US crosses it’s Republic’s Rubicon, its Hamlet moment, “to be, or not to be?” The fate of the nation rests on the choices the public makes in this historic election, maybe. We should know basically who cares about what by the weekend.

The economics of the pandemic for the haves and have nots is very different. The Southern border is bipartisan issue that sells well about the other party when it is in power. Violent crime is 40% higher in Red states, the crusade against sensible gun laws.

To me, the wrong direction for the country is the public support for Trump’s coup, his insurrection, that a traitor not be charged for any of his multiple crimes. To me, “I just want you to find me 11,780 votes, because that’s one more than what we have. . .” is the wrong direction for the country. Many Americans disagree, do not see a threat to the democracy.
