Socialism and the Military Budget
How is 740 billion in spending on a particular aspect of government funded by the collective, all the people, regulated by the Congress and the Executive not socialism?
It pursues the interests of the Federal Government, and it’s ruling factions, not the common good. There are troops all over the world, and installations all over the world, pursuing the interests of the oil cartels, the resources industries, big finance and the military industrial complex, and there used to be 140 million living a pay check or two away from economic hardship. Now the people are out of work in a pandemic, scared.
The Republicans and the Democrats can whine about socialism while pursuing it for the Defense and the Surveillance state budgets. The unentitled can’t even get food stamps any more. The Postal Service needs 10 billion a year and must be privatized while the Defense Department socialism is patriotic, and a non subject.
This enormous expenditure of public funds pursuing the interests of ruling factions is socialism, it’s government control of the means of production, that’s socialism.
