SLAUGHTER FOR NEW YEAR’S?

Who knows?

The arms manufacturers are happy,

the rest of us are observing

from afar,

a ball drops in New York City,

the bombs drop in Gaza,

what’s to celebrate,

the continued slaughter

signifying everything,

the killing floor is everywhere,

America armed to the teeth

with potential slaughterers,

given the right

to kill each other

with automatic weapons,

by appointed functionaries.
