Selflessness

The woman doctor who committed suicide after hitting a wall selflessly caring for others during a pandemic, a personification of the human tragedy unfolding daily as sickness and death in America .

The people who have politicized the pandemic are another personification of the society’s reaction to this pandemic.

Two American polarities, two faces of this pandemic, our cultural crisis, community or not.

In her place what would any of us do. I would not have had to face her reality, while certainly respecting her humanity, I’d take care of me. Health care people put their lives on the line, their lives, and some people think only about themselves, quite a contrast.
