PRICE CONTROLS

It isn’t 1968, the anti war protesters are in Russia, and the country could do what Nixon did, that will work to end the corporate price gouging in the corporate state, an excess profits tax on excess profits, and we all know where to find them.

The problem with price controls on excess profits is Congress, because the people making the excess profits run both the Republican and Democrat parties.

The will do do something that is a solution to the corporate price gouging is for Congress to pass price controls on essential goods. The government worked for Tricky Dick because it was a United States Congress, not a Republican or Democrat Congress, it was an American institution doing the people’s business, he had the votes.

The protests in Russia are a reminder of how little governments listen to the people, just as they were deaf to the calls to end that colonial adventure in the name of fighting communism, millions died in Viet Nam, there were 50,000 American deaths.

The war in Ukraine is reminiscent, a proxy war, with no end in sight, this one threating tactical nukes. Stop the war, negotiate, tell Congress to pass price controls, Nixon did it, and he also resigned, Congress was going to impeach him.

Trump walked twice during his term, won’t be a fan of price controls, his real base won’t like that. Biden, does he have the will, he doesn’t have the votes.
