May kindness and compassion rule the day
In the middle of this plague I’ve thought about self sacrifice during a pandemic, actually present everywhere. People taking care of one another and about one another.
The protests are a symptom of a malaise that’s been magnified by the madness of pandemic times, a state of affairs greater than human control, a state of nature, that is resolved with community, kindness and compassion.
Pandemics bring out the best and the worst in societies, and look around the world, communities have made a choice, we’re in this together or we are not. Here, opportunism has a tendency to be on the front burner, self interest.
Think of the sacrifices people make for their children, their loved ones, self sacrifice is everywhere in our pandemic world, community, kindness and compassion. The answer to our social crises, kindness and compassion rule the day.
