JULIAN ASSANGE AND IRAQ AND UKRAINE
Julian Assange is still in jail, a flight risk in an English dungeon until he can be extradited here to be tried for publishing Iraq and Afghan war crimes by the US Government and its co conspirators, who invaded Iraq based on lies. The scene of a US gunship taking out a van full of civilians, then a camera crew in Iraq, was worldwide news. How many people died or suffered in that conflict led by an appointed President, George Bush, appointed by the Supreme Court after the vote count was halted in Florida, where his brother Jeb was Governor, in 2000.
The Russian war crimes in Ukraine follow the invasion that began in 2014, when the pro Russian elected government of Viktor Yanukovych was ousted in a coup, in what was called the Revolution of Dignity, in 2014, which led to the Russian takeover of Crimea, and the disputed Eastern communities in Ukraine.
Today, Ukraine is in ruins, a great power proxy war is in progress, and great power power trippers have a war in progress that may end civilization as we know it. A return to some semblance of sanity, and the release of that political prisoner Julian Assange, are unlikely with two old Cold War warriors in charge, Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin.
The world needs to find a way to give peace a chance. War is an addictive drug, and war is a racket.
