Indians at Rushmore, 7/3/20

The local government busted the Indians for trespassing. Nerve like that is never hard to find in the American West.

The US broke a treaty in 1868 with these people, these indigenous tribes, and took their world. Expropriated their place in the sun and subjugated their culture and religion. Today, their health care sucks, they are mostly barely surviving, and now they protest the visit of someone they consider an oppressor and get busted for trespassing on their land. The book has also been thrown at these peaceful protesters, watch the video of their arrests.

That’s the American way, the colonizer’s mentality denying the rights of indigenous people, by enforcing laws of their own. It doesn’t matter if we stole your land, your world, it’s ours now, we make the rules.
