Incentivising the Taliban

Today’s spin is that the Russians are, or have been, incentivising the Taliban to attack US troops in Afghanistan. That’s like saying that you get more cases if you do more testing.

The goal of the Taliban is to get foreign troops out of Afghanistan. The US created the Taliban with the Saudis, incentivised them to kick out the USSR? No. They needed no incentive, just support.

US intelligence agencies say that the Russians incentivised the Taliban. Why would they need incentive? That’s their plan. So what are the intelligence agencies really saying, “The Russians are trying to do to us what we did to them.” The Saudis, American allies, also support the Taliban, incentivise them.
