COMMON SENSE

Tom Payne published a book in 1775 about the common sense approach to the divine right of kings, that I reflected on yesterday, the US House of Representatives being taken over by undemocratic forces, people who believe in the divine right of the Christian right to rule, oddly, through a delusional billionaire, Donald J. Trump. As yet, no actual consequences have resulted for the principals in Trump’s insurrection.

This is uncommon sense, the will to end the practice of representative government as representative government, by bringing the common good to a standstill, and pursuing partisan interests of a non democratic nature, gerrymandering and voter suppression, and the culture wars, participation in an insurrection.

The House of Representatives is run by people who have shown by their performance this session that they do not want government to work. The Republican Party and Democratic Parties have reached an impasse in governance, an insurrection has not been addressed effectively, two proxy wars are in progress, the immigrant crisis at the border is a political football.

The inflation was caused by conditions that the pandemic produced and the ruling class took advantage of, market disruption, price fixing on essential goods, and raising interest rates, which suppresses consumer demand, which ends the cycle, eventually, with vast profits for the ruling classes, Wall Street, the Big Banks.

Historically, American political parties represent the rich, differently. Trump is the Republican party today. The Supreme Court dictates today that Corporations are people, money is speech, women do not have equal rights. This is not common sense.
