An Extremist in Power

Trump’s an extremist, he sees the world and the American society in extreme terms. He can’t recognize the pandemic because he suffers from “toxic positivism”, he can’t face bad news, can’t go there. Trump’s worldview is a creature of his narcissism.

His world view has shaded America with his dark vision of “ them and us”. Police in America have to rise above this dark vision of them and us or they are an invading army to the communities they police. Shooting Jacob Blake 7 or 8 times in the back when you don’t have to sends a message to that community: “We act with impunity.” Impunity, that is not “law and order”, it’s police brutality.

What kind of police training shoots somebody 7 or 8 times in the back when you don’t have to? How do you justify “impunity”? You do it with extremism, there are no greys, only “them and us”. People are stupid to burn down their neighborhoods, playing into the hands of extremists like Trump and a cop who shot somebody in the back 7 or 8 times with apparent impunity, and it’s an open question as to whether there will be accountability in this tragedy.

Who thinks shooting anybody 7 or 8 times in the back is proper police behavior, explainable in a real world, justifiable? How’s having a crazy person as President working out?
